Honda CB750-K1

cb750k1_001

This is Howard Grieve's CB750-K1 that he acquired at the beginning of this summer. It was partly rebuilt when he bought it, but the engine needed a rebuild, so he"s  just finished the engine rebuild with the help of an old coffee table and a corner in the kitchen! Now having done done about 700 miles on the rebuilt motor,  Howard cleaned all gasket surfaces and used only new gaskets without using gasket glue, and to date there are no oil leaks. He  bought a lot of new parts from several countries, but the engine parts have come from David Silvers.  They have been a great help.

Since these pictures a new seat from PP Seats, which is excellent. The engine as a couple of modifications to improve running such as electronic ignition and  K&N filters but Howard has kept the original parts. The bike starts first time, and idles very smoothly once warmed up it gets ridden at every available opportunity. Another K1 engine has been purchased off eBay and stripped down. It  will be modified over the winter. Howard points out these engines had a couple of weak spots that he intends to rectify.
