Richard Biltcliffe's Kawasaki GPZ 550 A1

Ebay purchase 3 years ago, described as "runner needs carbs balancing", needless to say it was a little more than that required. Steadily restoring it to as close as original, but obviously not the colour.

Major work completed so far, carbs rebuilt, front forks and anti dives reworked , all seals and gaskets renewed, 4-1 replaced with original parts. most parts powder coated or repainted.

I have learnt many things during the 3 years the project has been running especially how a little planing helps you to do things once and not rush in. I have also found where to get good price nos parts, and I have found a number of engineering companies, some surprisingly local, who are dedicated to helping restoration.

She currently has 38000 miles on her, of which I have managed around 2000, since she is my first bike for around 20 years I plan to keep her for a while.
