Suzuki GS750EC
Nick Dent's Suzuki GS750EC.
This example of the Suzuki GS 750 EC is a 1978 model originally shipped to the US but brought
to the UK by a former owner in 1993. I bought the machine in May 2010 from its second UK owner in Bedfordshire and
was able to ride it until the tax ran out in September to get to know it and assess the work required. In the end I
decided to carry out a nut and bolt restoration of the machine excluding the engine which seemed fine for now, the
frame and all other ‘black’ parts were powder coated and many other parts chrome or zinc plated to suit the
original specification. I managed to locate a pair of NOS exhaust mufflers to replace the very tatty ‘Motad’ unit
it came with and many other parts from the UK and the USA. The work was carried out through the winter of 2010/2011
and the machine was put back on the road in early May of this year.
Future work will include having the fuel tank completely resprayed (I just had it freshened up for this year) and
possibly the engine as and when it needs any work carrying out. The Bike runs really well and runs as straight as a
die, so is a real fun ride for a born again biker.
