I aquired this Suzuki RE5M as a source of spares for my RE5A model. It had been stood under a tarpaulin sheet in a back garden for over thirty years and became a rust bucket.
On delivery and parked on my drive I had a sudden change of plan as I couldn't bring myself to break it up and decided that if I could get the engine running I'd go for a full restoration to Stafford show standard.
Within a month the engine was running and the restoration began and my bank balance suffered heavily. Within twelve months it was complete and shown privately at Stafford and won 1st place in the seventies section.
