Ed Marston's Yamaha XT500

Ed joined as a new member this year (2008) and loves the magazine.  Here is his XT500 - he restored a XT250 a few years ago and really enjoyed it, but this is the "daddy" and Ed always wanted one.  After a year of looking at messed up rusty heaps in this country, he bought this one freshly imported from Germany last summer (it was tired but very original) and after getting it MOT"d (just needed a battery and head bearing) and insured it was registered in his native Cornwall.  It went straight on the road and they got to know each other!  After visiting the Motorcycle Mechanics Stafford show last October Ed felt inspired to strip the bike and improve it - a winter project.  This is the result.  It's perfect for the hills and lanes here in North Devon.  Happy days!
